Three New Zealand sides were involved in draws. The Crusaders drew with the Sharks 21-21 in Christchurch while the Chiefs came from behind to draw with the Highlanders 31-31 in Dunedin.

The Hurricanes were the only Kiwi victors with a 29-19 win over the Rebels in Wellington.

Meanwhile the Blues continued their struggles away from home, suffering a 26-21 loss to the Brumbies in Canberra.
