Kane Thompson has played in three Rugby World Cups for Samoa, as well as making eight appearances for the New Zealand Under-21s.

He played Super Rugby for the Chiefs as well as Mitre 10 Cup for various franchises.

He now plays for New Orleans in the newly formed Major League Rugby competition in the US. Given the sports rise in the States, Kane spoke to Jason Pine about how it compares to back home and where he sees the sport heading.
