A fiery start to the second DHL Lions series test week.
Coach Steve Hansen is incensed his counterpart Warren Gatland has intimated the All Blacks intentionally targeted Connor Murray's legs when he was in the act of performing a box kick in the first test at Eden Park.
Hansen spoke with The Devlin Radio Show to express his disappointment at Gatland's comments.
"It was predictable comment from Gatland isn't it. Like two weeks ago, it was we cheated in the scrums. Last week it was blocking and now he's saying this, but it's really really disappointing to hear it."
He said what he's implying is they are intentionally going out to injure someone but that's not the case.
Hansen said as a New Zealander he should know it's about playing hard and fair.
Steve Hansen said he guesses Gatland might be a bit desperate but he's not sure why he would make the comments.
