Rowing New Zealand's most successful coach will ply his trade with Canada through to the Tokyo Olympics.
Dick Tonks has been appointed Rowing Canada's senior men's mentor.
The three time World Rowing coach of the year has been responsible for six Olympic gold medals throughout his long, but controversial coaching career with Rowing New Zealand.
Dick Tonks split with Rowing NZ in 2015 following a public spat over his refusal to stop coaching a group of visiting Chinese rowers.
He continued to coach Mahe Drysdale and the women's double sculls through to Rio at their request.
Tonks led his Kiwi athletes to over 30 Olympic and World Championship medals.
