Updated 4.39pm: Warriors co-owner Eric Watson has confirmed the club's interest in Manly playmaker Kieran Foran after errantly earlier heralding his signing.
Watson welcomed Foran to the Warriors family on Twitter, prompting queries as to whether his account had been hacked or if he had made a mistake.
He's since acknowledged his error and apologised to fans.
Watson says Foran is on the Warriors' wish list but isn't signed.
The club has yet to comment officially, but general manager Dean Bell says Foran is a target of theirs.
Bell says players like Foran don't come on the market very often and as he's a Kiwi he might want to return home.
Kieran Foran's agent has confirmed the Kiwis five-eighth is in talks with the Warriors, but denies a deal is close to being reached.
A Warriors spokesman believes the co-owner may be confusing Foran with Kiwis back-rower Bodene Thompson, who has signed a three-year deal with the club.
Kieran Foran comes off contract with Manly at the end of the next NRL season and has said he'll entertain offers.
His agent Paul Sutton says they're in discussions with a number of clubs, but they haven't committed to anyone for 2016 and beyond.
