The Chiefs' title defence at the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens will feature pool games against the Highlanders, Waratahs and French club Pau.

The draw for the 12-team tournament in February also pits the Hurricanes and Crusaders in the same pool alongside Fiji, who didn't contest the inaugural pre- season event this year.

The Chiefs beat the Crusaders in the 2017 final, with three New Zealand teams featuring among the four semi-finalists.

BRISBANE GLOBAL RUGBY TENS POOLS:
Pool A: Panasonic Wild Knights (Japan), Melbourne Rebels, Blues, Queensland Reds.
Pool B: Pau (France), NSW Waratahs, Chiefs, Highlanders.
Pool C: Fiji, Brumbies, Hurricanes, Crusaders.
