Walsh has won the the IAAF world challenge meet in Zagreb with a best throw of 21.50 metres.

However it's well short of the 22 metres he threw at the world champs and says he can't blame the conditions which were good.

"So there's no excuse mate, for not throwing well, not throwing far. As I say I'm a little disappointed, but you've got to take that win when you can get it, but sometimes it's ugly."

"I know I'm in better shape than this and I've got one more comp to prove that I am."

Tom Walsh wraps up his season in the Diamond League finale in Brussels on Saturday.
